30 years’ experience in all aspects of the Aluminium window and door industry, from fabrication through to sales and specification.
I started my career with Stern Fenster, a UPVC / Aluminium window and door fabricator. I had a variety of roles during my time with the business starting as a fabricator, installer through to managerial roles. A very fast paced environment with deadlines to be hit on a daily basis. I left to join Lincolnshire Architectural Glazing as operations manager. These were an Architectural Aluminium fabricator/ installer and got involved in some very large commercial projects. I undertook the role of operations manager responsible for 2 fabrication sites before taking over as project manager looking after the installation a number of large commercial projects.
Comar Architectural Aluminium offered me a position within there technical team as a Technical Support Officer. The role involved supporting the fabricator base with advice and training, attend site meetings and compile site reports. Conduct classroom style training and help develop training seminars. Help develop new products and attend testing.
I left Comar for a new challenge at ALUK as a technical support officer, a very similar role to the one at Comar however the role was more focused on the residential market as opposed to the commercial market at Comar. Bi Fold doors and Patio doors are a huge part of ALUK sales and the year I had with them introduced me to whole new market in the residential sector.
Comar came back to me and offered me a role as a Business Development manager covering the North East of England. I already knew the fabricator base from my time as technical advisor so it was an easy transition. I managed a large project bank, ensured all sales targets were met, developed new business and worked with a large client base of fabricators, architects and main contractors.
An opportunity arose to help set up a new Aluminium fabrication only company in Sheffield, Revo Fabrications. I helped set the company up, was responsible for all aspects of window and door fabrication, oversee sales and estimating and ensure all customer expectations were met. When I left the company had grown massively and had a full order book and 10 full time fabricators on the shop floor.
My latest role was with Meadstone Constuct, an Architectural fabricator/ installer in Lincolnshire. Working with Comar and Schuco products I joined as operations manager looking after all aspects of fabrication and installation. Meadstone worked on high end residential projects alongside commercial projects.
